  1. Andrew, can you please post a User guide for Matlab and instructions on how to access it remotely from work? Which lab do we need to go to at York to use Matlab?

  2. Yes, I that would be really helpful if we can access matlab remotely ?? I read somewhere that it's not a freeware or something

  3. To access MATLAB from home/work, you can ssh to red.cse.yorku.ca with your cse username and password, and then execute "matlab" from the command line. I think you can use MATLAB from any of the computer labs, but let me know if you have trouble.

Mathworks has some good tutorials ... you can google for "matlab tutorial" to find them, as well as other resources.

You don't have to complete the lab using MATLAB -- a spreadsheet program, such as excel, would also work.

  4. I have tried to ssh using via ubuntu on command line but the display wouldn't come up which i can understand. However, even using xmanager I can't see the gUI for matlab, all I get is a message saying

    Warning : glibc 2.3.4 - your version
glibc 2.3.6 - matlab built using this version

so not sure if it's something with matlab or am I doing something wrong
